What is the difference between a telenovela and a soap opera?

The telenovela tells the story mainly from the point of view of the protagonist. One episode is broadcast every day. A chapter usually ends with a dramatic incident and a cliffhanger. This keeps the viewer hooked. Telenovelas have a defined beginning and a predetermined ending. Depending on the plot, they can last up to a year. There is a large story arc.
