Colour and style advice

Stylists create specific hair and makeup looks for every occasion and type of model. This makeup also matches the outfit- they aren’t just makeup artists but also fashion stylists! They advise models based on their body type and figure. In the fashion industry, there are 3 different types of stylists: personal stylists who work as style consultants, brand stylists who are hired for advertising campaigns, and fashion editors. Sometimes stylists also arrange the backdrop for shoots. They have to be constantly up to date with the latest trends in the fashion world.

What does a stylist earn?

The income of freelance stylists depends on the job and how often you work. In the UK, the average yearly salary is around 25,000 pounds a year. However the daily rate ranges between 150-600 pounds.

If you study fashion and design you are also qualified for the role. In any case, having a passion for fashion and styling is essential in this profession.
