The Callsheet

Every industry has its own important terminology, and for a model it's important to familiarise yourself with words such as call sheet. To give you a thorough overview, we'd like to explain what a call sheet is all about.

What is a call sheet?

A call sheet refers to a daily production schedule. The model needs to pay close attention to this in advance. Being well prepared for the shoot is important for ensuring that the process runs smoothly on set. The team of experienced editors, photographers, lighting technicians, and prop masters expect you to arrive on set punctually and to always behave professionally. But what does a call sheet involve? What should you pay particular attention to as a model? Our starboxx team will explain everything you need to know about call sheets.

How do you read a call sheet, what is particularly important and what is not important at all?

Particularly as an inexperienced model, you have to first familiarise yourself with the important aspects of a job. This applies to call sheets in particular; you must pay close attention when reading a call sheet. Get to know about all the aspects of the call sheet; there is nothing unimportant when it comes to information about filming or shooting. The daily schedule often includes details on how to get there. This, together with the start time, should enable you to start the working day without delay - punctuality is, of course, a given for a professional model! The call sheet may also include important information about the planned styling before the shoot. For crew members, this may mean that special accessories are required on set. As a model, you may be asked to avoid washing your hair in the morning in preparation for the on-set styling. The daily schedule usually applies to the next day, so for shoots or filming lasting several days, there is a call sheet every evening with important information for the following day. A modelling role cannot always be planned 100% in advance. Therefore, you should be prepared for the fact that the latest information may be sent to you via a call sheet just a few hours in advance..

Who takes care of the call sheets?

The production team is responsible for planning the shoot as thoroughly as possible. Starboxx will also help you with the call sheet. We check every call sheet and "translate" all the information for you, making it even easier for you to take note of all the important information.
